\nIan C Douglas writes for children and adults. He is author of The Ravenshead Terrors. <\/em> The first of a trilogy of middle-grade books set in a near future where manmade global warming has turned the UK into a string of superheated islands. In this world of dangerous animals, zombie-like creatures and weather anomalies, teenage Matt finds himself on the run with half-human, half-animal hybrids. After Ian served an apprenticeship writing for magazines, he graduated with an MA in Creative Writing (Distinction). Prize-winning stories include The Haunting of the Jabberwocky<\/em>, and The Universe in Amber<\/em>. He is the scribe behind the picture book apps Snowpo the Bear<\/em><\/a> and an editor for Left Lion <\/a>magazine. Ian’s many years travelling are a vital source of inspiration. He was a winner in the Independent\/Bradt Travel Guide travel-writing competition. Ian runs creative writing workshops at schools, libraries and writing groups. He is a veteran member of the Nottingham Writers’ Studio<\/a>, the East Midlands Soceity of Authors and the Society of Children\u2019s Writers and Book Illustrators. Ian works with literature initiatives in the East Midlands and elsewhere. Recently Ian acted as literacy ambassador for charity Achievement For All.
